With Halloween behind us, it is a great time to introduce a monthly communication from IT in the Daily Blast called IT Tips and Tricks.  These are not Halloween tricks but, instead, technology tips and tricks that will enrich your technology experience at Mines.

Often, there are simple things you can do to take full advantage of the software, training, or processes that impact us all.

For example, did you know you can easily access Google’s Generative AI platform by going to bard.google.com and logging in with your Mines account?  For Generative AI usage at Mines, please review the Mines Guidelines for using Generative AI.

Here are a few more tips:

  • Did you know we have an IT Service Desk for in-person, on-demand technology support? Visit us in CTLM 156A Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • You can also get immediate IT help from our professionally staffed IT Service Desk by calling xHELP (303-278-4357).
  • IT also offers a satellite Service Desk in the library – find us near the study area, just past Book and Brew, Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Watch for this monthly update in the Daily Blast starting soon.

If you have an IT Tip or Trick you would like us to share broadly, just let us know.

Your input is valued and can be shared directly with me at andrewjmoore@mines.edu.

 Thanks,

Andrew, CIO (Chief Information Officer)
