Ethan Crawford

Manager, Customer Experience

Background:

Ethan Crawford grew up tinkering with computers and bulletin board systems over dial-up Internet in the 1980s and 90s. He had a passion for audio and video storytelling, and made stop-action claymation home videos as a kid. Later Ethan studied broadcast journalism at CU Boulder, and then completed a Master’s degree in International Security at the University of Denver Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Ethan has worked in radio and television, and spent time as a photographer and documentary filmmaker working across 6 continents.  

Ethan has worked professionally in EdTech (Educational Technology) since 1999, and now leads the IT Customer Experience team at Mines, focused on Instructional Technology, Business Technology, Accessibility Technology,  Technology Training, and Continuing Education technology and user support.

Ethan teaches as an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Social Work, University of Denver, where he developed a course on Digital Storytelling for Social Justice. He has also taught college courses on Video Production for Social Media, and Field Production & Editing.

Ethan has traveled extensively and regularly seeks exposure to new and different people, places, and cultures. Ethan speaks a bit of Portuguese, Spanish, and mostly English, and is known to converse in a number of technological languages. He occasionally works as a freelance producer in documentary film, and directs livestream video production for events in the Denver metro area. Ethan lives in Golden with his partner Libby, baby June, and Suki the dog.
