Upcoming Special User Account Password Expiration (Email Validation)

IT systems send a warning email notifying you that your _a password will be expiring in the near future and that you need to change it before the expiry date.

The below message is valid from May 20, 2024 and thereafter. We will put an end date in here if the message changes.

 

Subject: Your Mines _a Account password is expiring

Dear *<name>,

Your “ADIT\username_a” password is expiring at 07/30/2024 12:18:48.

NOTE: This is *NOT* your normal Mines account, but rather your account for accessing specialized ADIT resources.

This account is subject to the ‘ADIT Administrators’ password policy and must meet the requirements detailed at (type into your web browser, minus the
spaces) https :// confluence . mines . edu / display / IAM / ADIT+Password+Policies#ADITPasswordPolicies-ADITAdministrators

To change the password, please chose one of the following three options,
the first option being the easiest:

  1. Log in to your Mines Windows workstation as “ADIT\username_a”, press “CTRL-
    ALT-DEL”, and choose “Change Password”
  2. Using ADIT’s password reset system at (type into your web browser, minus
    the spaces) “https :// adfs . mines . edu / adfs / portal /
    updatepassword”, enter your username as “ADIT\username_a”
  3. If you use Microsoft Remote Desktop to connect to a Mines Windows
    workstation, you can connect as “ADIT\username_a” and press “CTRL-ALT-END”
    and choose “Change Password”.

Lastly, if you still need assistance, please put in a service request at the
Mines Help Center at (type into your browser, minus the spaces) “https ://
helpcenter . mines . edu”, and search for “Reset Password Issue”.
